Winnie The Pooh

by Martie

(Pennsylvania)

For Winnie the Pooh centerpieces I found bunches of flowers in tan flower pots that had ridges similar to beehives. The flowers were red, celery green, and yellow…the right colors!I took a permanent marker and drew a hole on each flower pot resembling the entrance hole of a beehive..I printed “hunny” over the hole and put bee stickers around the pot. I put a bumble bee that was attached to a wire, on the highest flower of each bunch. For favors I bought 12 oz. bear shaped jars of honey(smaller ones could be used). I tied ribbon around the neck and added a charm that said “it’s a boy” and a tag saying “something sweet to eat…for the rumbly in your tumbly” and then added the words “THANK YOU”. I placed a small Winnie the Pooh sticker on each tag.The tableclothes are celery green, red, and sunflower yellow, and a Winnie the Pooh tablecloth for the cake table. We haven’t had the shower yet so I’m sure I’ll come up with more ideas for decorating. Hopefully this will be a hunny of a day and not a blustery one!

more ideas

by: Martie

It’s me again. The shower is three days away. I ordered the cake today and it has baby Pooh and baby Tigger on it with a bee buzzing around. The main colors are pale green and sunflower yellow. Tiny flowers are placed here and there.I asked them to use this inscription “Bees are buzzing…Baby boy is blooming”.Another inscription I considered was “welcoming our sweet little hunny bee”.I’m also making cupcakes and bought Winnie the Pooh food coloring for the icing. And I bought plastic Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet pics to put on each cupcake.I bought honey(hunny) roasted peanuts for a snack on the tables along with a new trail mix that consists of graham bears, honey bee crackers, yogurt raisens and pretzels. The bears and bees are perfect for the Pooh theme.I’ll be placing the snacks in red, pale green, and yellow bowls.I have tons of stuffed Pooh bears, Tiggers, and Piglets to place around the room and a huge Pooh Bear and Tigger. I made a wishing well from a rectangle box. I covered the box with Baby Pooh wrapping paper and I used the tube that was inside the paper as poles to hold up the roof of the well.(I cut the tube in half..one half for each side). I used the two flaps of the top of the box for the roof, taping them together to form the roof, then covering them with yellow tissue paper and hotgluing it to the poles.I then added Pooh alphabet stickers on the roof spelling “wishing well” and some bee stickers.I’m going to seat the large Pooh bear inside the well.Maybe Tigger too. lol

I hope this helps someone out there!
