If you go to an arts and crafts store, you can find different cake decorating kits that are affordable and easy to use.

You can use boxed cake mix which will require less work, and use a shaped cake pan so the cake will go with your theme. The shaped pans come in the shapes of cartoon characters, animals, etc.

After you bake the cake, use the decorating kit to do everything else. Most kits come with candies, icing tubes, and complete instructions on how to use them.
