Levi Pregnant Belly Cake

The base of this cake is made using an 11 x 15″ pan, I used my Betty Crocker Bake’ n fill pan to bake the cake for the belly and the bust. The cake was chocolate fudge and was layered and filled with buttercream. After placing the bust and belly on the base and achieving the right shape the entire cake was covered in buttercream (I use a shortning based crusting buttercream).
Then the entire torso was covered in fondant, I then added the fondant tank top and dark blue fondant for the jeans. I added pockets made of fondant and traced around the pockets and zipper area with a tracing wheel to give the effect of stitching. I rubbed a very thin mixture of royal icing into the stitches and quickly wiped away the excess, to look like white stitching.
The snaps and rivets were made of gumpaste and painted with gold and silver edible luster dust. The sneakers, daisies and pacifier are all made of gumpaste.
