Who to Invite?

Do you send an invitation to someone who already told you that they will be unable to attend the shower? I don't want to appear to be soliciting a gift.

I would, just as a courtesy

I get asked this question a lot. And just like you, people don't want to seem like they're asking for a gift even though you know the person won't be attending the shower.

It's just an invitation, but a lot of people like to use them as keepsakes. Especially if they are close to the new mom.

I would still go ahead and send the invite, and follow it up with a phone call. Let the person know that you still wanted them to have an invitation, even though they can't make it to the shower. On this particular invite, do not include registry information.
