If you give a shower prior to the birth, what are you expected to do after the baby is born? A card, phone call? what?

I’m assuming you are asking what does the hostess have to do after the baby is born? I think a simple phone call or a visit to the new baby would be nice. You’ve already taken the time to throw the mom a baby shower, so it’s not necessary to buy anything else, unless you just want to. From here on out, all you have to do is provide your support where you see fit.
