What can you do in place of games at the baby shower.

The Mom-do-be does not want to play any “games” at the shower. What do you do to fill the time other than open presents? The shower will last for 2 and half hours. What can we do so the guests stay engaged and entertained???

Here are my suggestions

You can let the guests take part in making their own keepsake for the baby. Here are a few suggestions:

-Let them decorate onesies and use them to make a clothesline for the nursery.

-Let them each design a page in a scrapbook for the baby.

-Let them create an “advice book” for the new mom.

-Create a video recording for the baby to watch when he/she gets older. Let the hostess go around to each guest and have them say a little something to the baby on camera. Maybe have them hold up the gift they bought too.

When you think about it, 2 and ½ hours is not that long. Even if you don’t play game, opening all the gifts will take up a lot of time. And your guests will appreciate having time to just sit around, converse with each other and enjoy the food.
