Long distance delivery

by Sally

(Nashville, Ga)

My daughter and son-in-law live in Tn. Her family lives in Ga. We don’t have the means of webcam or any of that.
Any suggestions on doing a baby basket for family and friends to give? Or any other suggestions?

Long distance delivery

by: Posh Exprssions

I just gave a really nice gift basket to my sister- in-law. I basically put in it everything she needed when she came home from the hospital. You can put things like diapers, wipes, manicure and brush and thermometer packet, onsies, pajamas, wipe warmer, baby monitor, bath towels, socks, baby album, Mylocon for the baby’s gas, Tylenol for infants and so on. You can be as creative as you would like. They loved my gift and was so happy that they didn’t have to worry about anything when their baby came home. Anything you can give them would be a great help and they are sure to appreciate it.

FedEx Ground

by: Rattlecake Diaper Cakes

FedEx Ground is really reasonable if you keep the dimensions of the box below 84 inches total (girth plus height). I ship all of my diaper cakes with FedEx and the average charge for a 15x15x23 inch box weighing around 8lbs is $10. Go to the FedEx website…they have a free estimator.

Send them a large gift basket

by: Sonya

If they have a registry, friends and family can just purchase stuff from the list. If not, they can just buy whatever they think your daughter and son-in-law would want or need.

Arrange all the gifts in a large basket, and add greeting cards/little notes from everyone. You could also do a scrapbook and have each gift giver personalize a page for the baby, or video record everyone saying a few words to the baby and parents, and send them a copy of it.

The only issue you may run into with this is the price for shipping. If your basket turns out to be pretty large, the shipping charges may be a bit high. So, you could ask everyone to pitch in with shipping as well. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with that.
