First time diaper shower

by Tammy

Is it appropriate to put a list of things the expectant mom needs on the invites? This is her second child and she already has a lot of everything baby needs except for the necessities like diapers, wipes, binks, and so on.

Use “baby sprinkle” invitations

by: Sonya

Hi Tammy,

You can certainly include a list of desired gifts/baby items with your invitations. In fact, I always suggest doing that because it prevents the guests from having to go print out the baby registry themselves (saves them a little time).

However, you can also consider using wording appropiate for a baby sprinkle. In case you are not familiar with a baby sprinkle, it’s just a toned down version of a baby shower, designed for parents-to-be who have already had a shower for a previous child, therefore they do not need the big stuff like furniture, travel gear, etc.

Check out this page for some wording ideas:

You can also just click on “types of showers” on the navigation bar to the left, and then click on “baby sprinkle”.

All these wording samples cleverly let the guests know that you are focusing on getting the small but necessary baby stuff-diapers, feeding supplies, etc.

And again, if you don’t see something that strikes your fancy, I say just add your gift list to the invites. Either way, your guests will figure it out
