Against evites

I personally would much rather receive a printed invitation than an e-invite, since it is in a way asking for a monetary donation and a printed invite shows class. I agree with the comment that it also makes the statement that you took the time compared to pushing a button.

Evites for

by: Susan Elfers-Warren

I don’t care what anyone says but I think evites for a baby or bridal shower is tacky to say the least! To me sending an evite for such an event basically says “I’m too busy in my life to purchase real invitations and hand-address them, but please bring me a gift anyway!” Evites are fine for everything else like having a cookout, Halloween party, etc. All others, bridal, baby you should go by the Emily Post Etiquette. I hate to see the younger generation taking this lazy route!

Yes, but have some printed ones too.

by: Expecting in Oklahoma

Yes, this is perfectly fine! My friend is throwing me a shower and she is emailing out the invitations for the most part, but she will have some printed ones to mail for my husband’s aunts who are older and don’t “do” email. The best way to know is to ask the mom-to-be, since she’ll be coming up with the guest list and will know if there will be people coming who don’t “do” email.
