My sister and I are hosting a baby shower for both our niece and niece-in-law. What is the etiquette for opening gifts?

No proper etiquette here

There is really no "proper" etiquitte to follow here. I would just have both of them sit in separate chairs where everyone can see them, and have them randomly open their gifts. Whoever is in charge of passing the gifts to them, just have them open the gifts in whatever order you pick them up.

I would also take a separate pic of each mom with her gift, and a few pics with both of them together, surrounded by all the gifts.
