The order does not really matter too much. But most people serve appetizers or snack food as soon as the guests arrive. After everyone shows up, games are usually first, followed by the food, then gifts, and then dessert.

But it's really up to you. I would just suggess that you don't wait too long to serve some food, whether it be appetizers or your main dishes. You don't want your guests to get hungry.
