Bundles of Joy

I was given the creative green light to create two cakes for a twins baby shower...the catch...the father is a huge Cubs fan and it needed to be included in a cute way.

I used a square cake pan to bake the base of the cakes and a 10" round for the "bundle". Once the cakes were baked I leveled and butter creamed them. To keep to the Cub theme I used white fondant to wrap the base square cakes and light blue fondant to wrap the bundles. I used tinted gumpaste to form the baby feet and gumpaste to make the Cubs tags. The baseball and baseball bat were also made of tinted fondant and red buttercream. I used ribbon to trim the cakes off.

They were a HUGE hit at the baby shower and a nice surprise for the husband to see his favorite baseball team on the tags of his little boys. Hope you enjoy!!
