Is it o.k to buy a gift from baby registry if you are a family member before the invitations are sent?

You can buy a gift as early as you want. New moms would be more than happy to accept gifts at any time during the pregnancy, and even after the baby is born too. Everything that she gets, no matter when she gets it, will come in handy.

Just make sure you include a gift receipt if you are concerned about her wanting to exchange the gift.
