Baby shower game alternative

Instead of the traditional baby shower games (do people really LIKE these??), why not have each person read a poem or passage from literature that means something to them, preferably having to do with love, mothering, and the like. Afterward, present the poems in a scrapbook for the impending mother to have as a keepsake. In years to come, she won't likely remember any shower games played, but she'll have the poems for a lifetime. Oh - and serve good wine, not punch!!

There are a good number of people that think baby shower games are boring. And your ideas are great alternatives for people who don't want to play games.

Actually, your ideas would be great activities for a blessingway, which is a spiritualy alternative to the traditional baby shower.
