Is it proper etiquette to have a baby shower for your second child?

I think it’s fine

I don’t understand why people get so upset about this. I don’t care if I have 10 kids, I want all of them to be celebrated in some way. You don’t have to have an all-out baby shower for all of your kids, but there is nothing wrong with having a little celebration. And all new babies need stuff like diapers, food, etc. I would do the baby sprinkle party.

Tacky

Baby shower / gift registry for baby no. 2 is tacky. My SIL is doing this. Her other child is under 2 years old. There is no shower/gathering to speak of just a gift registry posted online. I find this lacking in class and greedy. They already have everything they need apart from some clothes. They even have diapers on their registry! They are financially comfortable due to their ability to live on a budget and save quite a bit of their salaries, I think it’s called being cheap in their case.

Baby showers for any child after the 1st born are called “baby sprinkles”. At these celebrations, you are sprinkling the baby and mom with the everyday baby needs like diapers, wipes, food, bathing stuff, etc. But, you will not be buying the big stuff like a crib, playpen, carseat, etc. Most likely, the mom already has this stuff from her first baby shower.
