Baby shower brunch at a restaurant

We cannot afford to pay for everyone's brunch, but we would like to give our friend a baby shower at this breakfast/brunch restaurant...is it ok to have everyone buy their own?

There is often a lot of debate about whether or not it is okay to let your guests pay for their own meal. Personally, I think it is perfectly acceptable to ask your guests to pay for themselves if the shower is at a restaurant. But, as a courtesy, you should cover the cost of appetizers and maybe drinks too.

Remember that your guests will also bring a gift, and you don?t want them to feel like they are putting out too much money.
